This is a course based on Josef Albers’ “Interaction of Color” graduate course at Yale. The eleven-week intensive color course will meet once a week for 3 hours. Classes are highly-structured, hands-on color studies with almost half of the time devoted to class critique. Expect to spend at least equal time outside of class for each assignment.

The course will be held between September 9 and November 23, avoiding the Labor Day and Thanksgiving holiday weeks. Class size is limited to 8-10 students. The cost for tuition and materials will be approximately $400.

Dates: Tuesdays, September 10 – November 19; or Saturdays, September 14 – November 23 (11 weeks)
Time: 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Place: Dick Nelson’s studio in Kula (address and instructions will be provided prior to the first meeting)

We are now accepting reservations. Space is extremely limited, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use this form to contact Karen Bennett, Dick’s administrative assistant, for registration instructions. (Registration is closed and the form has been removed.)
