Color Relationship 1 & 2, Winter 2020

Boxy tutorials

The official Boxy tutorials each cover a lot of ground, quickly, and sometimes they go into topics or depth we don’t need. But you will learn a lot about what you can do with it, some of which you may have been wondering about, and some which may give you some ideas. Remember, you can pause it or replay a section as needed, no need to get overloaded.

Watch the official Boxy tutorials, released January 2020 (and on YouTube playlist).

Jason Erdreich’s tutorials provide a little more explanation, but be aware that some aspects of the program may be different now, since it’s had a few more years of development.

Dick’s video tutorials are linked within the class tab for the assignment they apply to.

Volume color

Volume color builds on the concepts of veils, because atmosphere (or liquid) behaves like an infinite series of veils: objects deeper in space take on more of the color of the atmosphere; the veiling becomes more opaque.
