Surprising perspective

One of Dick’s former students shared this video with him. He called it “absolutely amazing” and asked me to share it with you.

You can learn more about Patrick Hughes on his website and in other YouTube videos. If I may guess at what impressed Dick so much, I would say it is that Hughes has truly exploited (sixth phase of creative problem solving) his understanding of perspective, space, light, shade, and human perception to create works of visual art that literally involve the viewer. In addition, he knows who he is and what he is trying to say, and all elements of the compositions support that mission.

PS: A sharp reader asked if this is a form of anamorphic illusion. In the spirit of delayed closure, I leave that for you to explore.
